Presalio — field sales & distribution suite

Context

Presalio is a sales-force automation suite for FMCG distributors — pre-sales, ordering, delivery, merchandising, stock and route-to-market — used by field reps, drivers, supervisors and back-office teams. The field side runs on phones in shops, warehouses and on the road, often with weak or no signal; the back office runs on Odoo.

Role

Frontend developer on the product team. Ownership of tracking and maps, the Odoo-embedded map apps, offline storage performance and electronic signatures, plus a steady stream of minor and major bugs reported from the field.

Challenge

• Visibility on the field — live positions, actual routes and served warehouses on a map for supervisors.
• Maps inside an ERP — dispatchers work in Odoo all day, but Odoo is not built for rich map interfaces.
• Heavy offline data — large local saves froze the app on mid-range phones.
• Proof on the spot — deliveries and agreements required consent and a signature captured in the app.

Approach

GPS tracking, routes and warehouses

Tracking views that follow a user's position and reconstruct the day's routes, alongside the warehouses and points of sale covered; planned vs actual routes side by side.

Four Vue map apps embedded in Odoo

Delivery dispatch, GPS tracking and visual routing (among others) built as separate Vue applications embedded in Odoo through iframes: context and authentication passed from Odoo, data kept in sync, and iframe issues (sizing, navigation, cross-frame messaging) solved and maintained.

Offline-first storage, 40% faster

Every action written to IndexedDB first and synced in the background. Reworked batching and writes cut save time by ~40% and removed the freezes agents reported.

Electronic consent and signature

E-consent and signature capture in the app, so deliveries and agreements are confirmed with proof on the spot instead of on paper.

Printing and field debugging

Native Android (Java) Capacitor plugin for portable thermal printers; structured logs around sync and printing to turn intermittent field reports into reproducible cases.

Results

• Live visibility on agents, routes and warehouses for supervisors.
• Dispatch and routing tools inside Odoo, where the team already works.
• ~40% faster offline saves and ~25% fewer interruptions in low-connectivity areas.
• Paperless consent and signatures in the field.
